The balloon man　　Creator:TBS Television, Inc.「Arabiki-dan」

Kentaro Fukuda of the TBS Planning Office, in charge of "Arabiki-dan", commented on the award.

We are very happy to hear we have been awarded the "World-Wide Laugh" prize at the second Okinawa International Movie Festival.
"Fusen Taro", the star of Balloon Man, has been part of our program since it started. He's pretty funny to watch anyway, but the way the balloon bursts at the end is both comical and sad-something we were surprised and delighted to hear hit home with people all around the world.
At Arabiki-dan we try not to get carried away with our own acts, but scout out a wide range of acts by street artists, dancers, ordinary working people and amateurs.
That's why we are always finding Arabiki Performers like the Balloon Man, who are not restricted by language and develop new ideas.
As long as our program continues, we hope to participate in this festival again next year, and our staff are aiming for a second "World-Wide Laugh" crown.
