  • Yonimo Omoshiroi Otokono-Issho Katsura Harudanji Harudanji Katsura (Hisaya Morishige) plays the opening act at a theater in Hozenji alley in Minami, Osaka. He's an outrageous man who loves booze, women and fi ghts. He marries Otama (Awashima) who runs a small bistro, but instead of settling down, his playing around escalates. Seeing that Harudanji has not cleaned up his act, Otama leaves him. Hisaya Morishige plays Harudanji - a most lovable comedian from Osaka - with light-hearted wit.

  • Hesokuri Shacho The fi rst of the "Shacho (company president)" comedy series, this movie depicts the hectic work life of a womanizing company president, played by Hisaya Morishige, and his company during Japan's period of rapid economic growth. This fi lm was followed by 40 sequels that came out in 15 years. Zennosuke Tashiro (Morishige) is a company president simply because he married the daughter of the late company president. A submissive husband, he has no money to spare but he gets involved with his music teacher.

  • Kigeki Ekimae-Ryokan The fi rst of the "Ekimae" (Station-front) series of human comedies. Jihei Ikuno (Hisaya Morishige) is the experienced concierge of an inn in front of Ueno Station. However, some malicious soliciting begin s to take place in the neighborhood and Jihei starts a campaign to stop it. This is the only movie in the series to have been adapted from Masuji Ibuse's novel and has plenty of the essence of human drama. The dialogue between the main haracters played by Morishige, Junzaburo Ban and Frankie Sakai is so brilliant that it is no wonder that the movie turned into a series.

  • Hana-noren After her kimono store goes bankrupt, Taka (Chikage Awashima) buys a music hall, calling it the Tenmantei, and kicking off on a new start. The Tenmantei does well but once their lives have become stable, Taka's husband Kichisaburo (Hisaya Morishige) starts fooling around with women once again. The story portrays the toughness and sorrow of an Osaka woman, but Hisaya Morishige who plays the sloppy, careless Osaka man, gives it a unique charm.
