To Everyone at Yoshimoto Kogyo and the Okinawa International Movie Festival

For around a century now, Yoshimoto Kogyo have been providing entertainment with a uniquely Asian flavor and have been purveyors of laughter and happiness. Laughter eases the stressed mind and actively promotes cultural development.

As well as attracting movie-industry people from all over the world, the successful 2009 Okinawa International Movie Festival (the first edition of the festival) also introduced the theme of “Laugh and Peace” to audience members from every corner of the globe. With the second edition of the festival retaining this theme, I am confident that the Okinawa International Movie Festival will enjoy further growth.

We at Salon Films would like to convey our warmest wishes for the success of the second Okinawa International Movie Festival.
In addition, we hope that the efforts of the members of the festival committee will enable the “Laugh and Peace” concept to transcend ethnic barriers and national borders, to facilitate cultural exchanges between audience members and people of every nation, and to convey the multi-faceted cultural values of Asia to the entire world.
